There are many different drills that soccer coaches use today, but just how many of those are effective as a training method for coaching youngsters? When we think of ‘drills’ we think of lines and children waiting in line for their turn. Recent soccer methodology (and some common sense) has taught us that youngsters get bored while waiting in lines and often lose attention.

Drills also only focus on one part of soccer, there is no room to coach transition or how players can be skillful on the ball. Coerver Soccer Coaching on the other hand focuses on making sure youngsters thrive in a fast paced, and creative environment where they not only have to play well, but think smartly.

Coerver coaching can be coached in a 1v1 environment, but also in small-sided games where children are encouraged to use different beat an opponent moves, or change of direction skills. By working with youngsters and using small sided games, the young soccer players get many touches on the ball and use the game as a learning mechanism.
