The U.S. Men’s National Team qualified for the 2002 FIFA World Cup courtesy of a 2-1 victory over Jamaica at Foxborough Stadium in the team’s first match since the tragic events of 9/11 nearly a month before. 20 years later to the day, the USMNT takes on Jamaica in Austin in a 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifying match.

When folks ask about the peak international performance by a USMNT player I always think about 2001-2002 John O'Brien. This video is evidence A, B, and C. He was absolutely electric and we've never produced anything like him since. What a shame that injuries took his career so young.
