Alex Morgan never gets a chance to make that shot without irregular interference by the ref. It's a 3-2 win for Canada, with a normal ref, flaws and all normal ref, and if, it will probably turn out, Nike is not pulling strings. Bronze is great, Canada of course usually loses and probably will in Rio but beat them this game
sure. almost right. except this was an exceptional call, not simply a bad judgment call, a once a decade call, the direct result of a ref intimidated by a USA player on a rule that she misunderstood and over-called. Don't tell me about the letter of the law, if you call it that way every time, there would be 3 such calls on Hope. So Canada won. See The Chronicle Herald on 'call continues to baffle the experts' for the rule and what experienced refs say about.
for expert info
no, the ref told the USA team to not play defense, since she was in their corner. 3 goals scored by one player? that's defense?
Its not a thriller when the USA rapes Canada in soccer 99% of the time. Its a thriller if Canada would have won.
You forgot to mention Tancredi stomping on Carli Lloyd's head while she was down and the score was 1-1. Easily a red card that wasn't called. If that had been called none of this would be relevant.
you forgot the part where the ref warned her that she was taking to long
problem. Canada won but ref went out her way to ensure USA won (technically but not morally)
