  1. After the 1-0 win over el Salvador it reminds me of prior US results very dull and lackluster, we can't even call this sport by its real name football what makes us think we can all get behind this team for the next world cup?

  2. I'm from Korea played high school soccer here. Coaches from school teacher dont care about winning. Coach pick their favorite players. I knew they would do bad. It builds up from ground.

  3. In the USA, every company cares about the bottom line, and as a result of it, mediocrity can reign supreme in sports like soccer. As long as money is made, owners and investors will not care

  4. I love this!! us soccer is behind!! USA needs to focus on individual play!!! players play on plays!! instead of player development!! Individual play is not coached,. your right!!

  5. Four years later, it looks like the US is finally on the right track. No more recycling past prime former stars. Going all in with the youngsters. Not just Pulisic, but McKennie, Dest, Reyna and now Pepi. They’re still fairly green at this point, but they could make some noise in the 2026 Cup.

  6. To those who say that you need to pay to play in the US, let me tell you, if you stand out in soccer, you do not have to pay to play. I remember when I was a kid coming to the US, as a 14 year old, a from high school asked me if I wanted to play in a team. I said fine, I did tried out and guess what, they said I had to pay, I told them forget, I do not have any money. Well they still signed me because I was very good in soccer. So I did not pay a penny and I was able to travel with the team and stay at the hotels and eat the meals just like the rest of the team.

  7. Funny to look back at this. That was the end of the road from what was a startling trend… players that wanted to skip pushing themselves and challenges to be nice and comfy in MLS and home. Players that deluded themselves by saying: It's better for me to be a guaranteed starter every day in MLS than to worry and fight for my spot every day in Europe. Top US players ditched Europe for MLS between 2012-2017. Remember when Klinsmann axed Besler who was upset about the 'expectation' that he work hard and improve in the offseason? He said… "my goal is to be ready for March". MLS can end for clubs in early November. That's around 4 months off. But he thought he was already at the level of a Sergio Ramos. You also had players saying: "No, i'll just sign/re-sign with MLS. I like it here in Kansas City or Salt Lake City. And I play all the time regardless." That was the US. it was not even close to being a surprise they failed to qualify. That was about 7 years in the making. I don't blame Klinsmann really OR Arena. If anything, JK thought he was getting a type of mentality you saw with the early 2000s teams. He got the opposite.
