  1. It's a Third world sport. If it becomes popular here it means we lost the third world war. It's a shit sport where highlights on sports center are always misses. Not goals but almost scoring. A 0-0 tie is a accomplishment and kinda normal.

  2. We don’t qualify for one World Cup after we made it to the round of 16 of the World Cup went toe to Toe with Portugal and got into the semifinals in the Copa America. You people are missing brain cells. Yet no video on how we are the kings of Concacaf and how we beat Mexico and the champions of Asia( Qatar) with our B/C team. Gtfo.

  3. well the answer is simple: soccer for europeans like england, france, italy, germany etc. and south americans is like breathing they basically live for soccer and literally grew up w it while for north americans is basket or football. even if us keep trying its useless bec people will always choose basket or football over soccer.

  4. Tbh the most athletic nation is Croatia, 4mil people and just look at the success in well basically any sport. Producing legends everywhere while being small af, having numbers is good but bruh have to give the credit

  5. MLS ???…

  6. First we have to stop putting rich kids with money over quality players and to also look to the top 5 leagues in europe such as promotion and relegation. In order to become a footballing powerhouse we have to develop a footballing culture such as street football and futsal in order to develop the technical and creative side of a player

  7. Start by the start call it football and then we talk jokes aside i think that your culture isn't very close to the type of passion that football awakes in other countries like england with their classy-traditional football, spain with a more spicy and acrobatic style, argentina with the naturally talent and rustic way of playing or brazil where the football is like breathing for them i think USA just is trying too hard not to look like the weirdo of America

  8. I once read on the news that football (or soccer in your culture) is a game for rich and white kids. It requires a lot of accessories to play football in the USA, unlike in South America, where kids just need a rusty ball and two bricks to make the goal and no referee, of course. Just like that and they'll have intense matches for the afternoon and get beaten by their parents when they get home.

  9. USA don't just suck at Soccer/football anymore, they suck at even providing to their people. I am positive every president in the future will be like Trump who openly says "We have a cure!! the FDA did a wonderful job" and then the FDA comissioner says "That is false we do not have a cure." infront live broadcast to the public.

  10. I’m from Europe and if i would live in Usa and start playing football(as you call soccer)I would be the best player in Usa history.I think those americans guys who plays football are so lucky, cause here in Europe or every continent i would say expect north america, everyone who starts play a sport as a kid “10 of 9” starts playing football and here 5-10 % are the chances to be a professional football player, because you have to much competition with everyon and is so hard to breakthrough a good league or team.

  11. A good example how good this works and how much money can be made by this: just look at Eintracht Frankfurt. 3 seasons ago they nearly got relegated to the 2nd division. Then they started scouting young talents and some new skilled players who might fit in their new playing system. After 1 year(!) they beat the by far best german team at this time, and maybe even the best in the world at this point in the German national Cup. The following season this happened: They nearly got into the Champions League. They where the 2nd best team in the Europa League hands down. And they made a profit of more than !!! 150 million euros !!! by selling some of their talented players. And now again they are fighting for a Champions League place, and actually beat the likely best german team again (5-1).
The US doesn't have that, and i don't know how anyone can say a sport where skill is less worthy than a big bank account, such a sport is nothing but a scam.

  12. For starters, they need to reform the entire infrastructure to imitate something similar to Europe. The single entity, dual conference & play off system might work for the NBA, NFL & MLB but it doesn't for football (soccer). You can currently finish 7th in your conference but still go on to win the MLS Cup. That means there's no real incentive to finish as high as possible, especially if you're not in contention for 1st place and especially if you're a bottom club that's not in contention for a play off spot. This produces so many meaningless, pre-season like games during the regular schedule. Introducing a multi-tier system with promotion and relegation between divisions will create so many incentives for all teams to finish as high as possible, making the games more competitive, keeping everyone on their A game which will lead to improvement.

  13. I'm a Sounders fan, seeing the cascadia rivalry and watching both the Sounders and timbers win the cup was refreshing. Instead of seeing LA galaxy or Houston win it again suddenly the other clubs want the cup, you could say after the rest of the league grew and developed it legitimized the MLS cup as a title worth going for, also this was a problem with other leagues but fouls and penalties, diving was a problem, (still is) you can get more money playing in premier league or the Asian leagues. Just stagnant home talent. And washed up stars from the rest of the world

  14. Nah it's kind of everything. I know because I've seen the way Europe and other countries run the sport. Miles ahead of usa. The thing is America has the tools to achieve greatness however their philosophies, what they look for, the fact business is the most important part as a whole, it's expensive over here for good teams, etc. America treats it like any other sport over here and you can't do that if you want to eventually compete with the big dogs. The fact that there are so many sports in this country hurts soccer because it's not apart of culture like other countries. Other countries, most around the world, treat it as a religion and passion. Street soccer, local tournaments are examples of it and of course the passion. That's why people always advise Americans to travel to Europe to give it a shot. America like to look for physicality first and skill and talent second when it should be the opposite. America, for the most part, would choose a kid that is strong, tall and fast With decent skill over a kid that is very skilled and talented who isn't as strong or tall or fast. Thats most of the time. And that's a big issue over here. Physicality is important however your fitness and stamina is more important than other things. Being tall, strong and fast is a bonus in European culture 95% of the time. The cost is an issue too. Soccer over here is known as a rich kids sport because most of the time it's so fucking expensive. Over in Europe, although you have to show something, it only cost like 200 to 400 bucks to join a top academy. Bayern Munich is only 200 compared to the average cost of a club over here in the US, a good team and club at that, at around 1,000. Big difference and because of that a lot of kids get overlooked and can't join teams because it's too much. Or miss out on developing. Most of the major programs over here fuck up the game in this country. Fuck USA?Gotta keep grinding though?

  15. But most players in the MLS aren’t even originally FROM the United States. I don’t think the MLS has anything to do with it. Btw I see FC Cincinnati is doing pretty well in the MLS, huh? 😉

  16. For kids my advice is go into another sport. Soccer is too crowded and too expensive. Any other sport is easier to get to the top. Soccer is a team sport too, so even if you are say a great midfielder, but the rest of the team sucks, it will appear that you suck as one person cannot make the team good. And if the team is losing then scouts will not be interested. Try tennis, football, basketball, baseball, track, golf, etc. Or just do soccer for fun and focus on academics or gaming or music or anything else.

  17. I'm not even a soccer fan tbh. Just never been interested but I have done research on soccer in general and the way the leauges in Europe and America work and the system in the US is absolutley fucked lol.

Edit: And NFL culture is different. They want to get better. Relegation would not work in football. To many players and variables. It would work in basketball though.
