I realize that Berhalter is a favorite punching bag for American soccer-heads of both the amateur and professional pundit varieties.
But, let's analyze this from a macro level, rather than picking apart every little decision. In the past year, the man has lost exactly 1 competitive match, won 2 international trophies (both at the expense of his biggest rival), beaten Mexico 3 times in competitive matches, and is poised to lead the qualification table for Qatar 2022.
You can tell me that he shouldn't get ALL the credit for what had undeniably been a banner year for the USMNT. But, you can't tell me he doesn't deserve at least SOME of the credit – not if you expect to be taken seriously, in any event.
