Hopefully moderators will highlight this message because the comments below are inflammatory and false and no one needs to be exposed to the vitriol. No disrespect but this is like in slow motion compared to men's football.
As a non-sport following guy, womens soccer was my favorite to watch above anything else because the way they played was more exciting for me as a viewer. Then, the team demanded to get paid MORE than the mens team, then called it sexist when that proposal was rejected, and then they DISRESPECTED our flag and a living WWII veteran by turning their backs on them during the national anthem on live TV. And NO- they did not "turn towards the flag". You can see easily with your very own eyes in the wide shots that they turned away to DISS our entire country and embarrass everyone. Needless to say, the literal only organized sport I ever enjoyed watching I won't be supporting anymore because its far too toxic.
I loved how they turned there backs to that 98 year old man playing the anthem. They showed us all we need to see. So brave.
