  2. We need winners not old men. Why waste spots on guys that aren't gonna play? I don't mind for stuff like third goalkeeper but not in position where we could let younger players have their shot at.

  8. I think Long is probably there due to attrition more than anything else. Realistically, there aren't many options. EPB and Long were both in the June camp and EPB did not play as well in the game time he got and was likely outplayed in training too. EPB plays centrally in a 5 man backline but looked poor in a 4 man backline. Gregg wants to win and is going to select players he thinks give him the best chance even if you don't agree with his opinions. McKenzie just gives the ball away so much it is hard for me to say he earned a spot over Long in September. Trusty is too late probably and that league IMO is highly over rated and not much better than MLS if at all. Brooks can only get on the field against 3rd division teams in cup games. There just aren't many options that I see. I do think he will bring 5 and Ream will be on the team. I don't think Cannon will make it. Thanks for the entertaining video.

  10. I'm the resident CCV cheerleader on these boards, but I've got to admit that Tim Ream should probably go before him (and both before Long). Something happened with Ream back in qualifying. He was on the team, but then had to leave for "family reasons"; and never came back into the squad. And Zimmerman replaced him.

    I'm not doubting the "family reasons", but it does make my spider senses tingle. Something is lurking behind the scenes to explain this.

  13. people picking a team or at the very least its backups for their intangibles is dumb. Particularly, when those intangibles advantages are negligee or nonexistent when compared to the alternatives. This is the most hunch, guts and feelings that you've ever been.

  14. Being from Jersey (as you are) I was so happy to see Filthadelphi lose BOTH the MLS Cup Final AND the Wold Series in the same night (and I don't even watch Baseball). It was a glorious night.
    As an MLS fan that was a hell of a game and the Union fans shouldn't feel too bad because their team gave it their all and took it all the way to PK's. They did not just roll over and get beat.
    As a Revolution fan, I know how little that really means. Having lost 5 MLS Cups, and ALL of them in extra time and or PK's, it doesn't matter that they were all tight, hard fought affairs. Not raising that trophy in the end is all that matter.

  22. I think you're going to get a fair amount wrong. Conrad relayed Ream's highly likely to be picked. Gregg loved him, then thought he aged out. Shockingly he's had his best year, at 35. Morris just came thru for Gregg again, & he (understandably) loves guys who do that. Expect McKenzie to be there. Is a necessary speed backer & was just behind Long last camp. 1 or more will be axed for injury. Steffen will likely start. Can't let go of Columbus tie. Pepi will likely start. He's been the option for Gregg v. better sides & is in better form.

  25. My Gregg roster, which I completed a week ago, matches yours exactly. My community roster submission has 24/26 players the same. My last two in were Ferreira and Cannon.

  27. Dest, Scally, Richards all better backup LB options than Bello who actually plays the position plus they all also offer versatility/cover elsewhere. If Jedi can't go-rather than disrupt 2 positions with Dest at LB where he is less effective and Yedlin at RB, – I'd prefer leave Dest at home/RB and bring in Scally at LB or even Richards depending on the situation. I'm going to… if Scally doesn't go….

  28. I know Gregg won't do this, but I would much prefer seeing all 4 of Pepi, Fereirra, Sargent and Pefok… and who would I drop? Morris/Arriola. Sargent is better on the wing than either of those guysand he's our best striker overall, so he can contribute at either position. Fereirra I see as more of a backup 10 behind Reyna than as a striker, but not many minutes in either role.

  29. I can't believe we're having to decide between pefok Sargent and pepi when I would leave arriola and/or Tillman off. I would take all three and also leave off Tillman and bring Ream. 6 CBS gives you options.
    Berhalter always limits his options with his roster decisions.

  30. The way that Scally is performing week in and week out in the Bundesliga, it would just be foolish to not take him. Same with Ream.

    But this is Gregg we're talking about.

  32. The negative point about Long's place on the roster is not that he is on the roster instead of Ream per se. If he were player 24-26, it wouldn't matter. The problem is that he is going to start.
