  1. Smith makes mountains out of mole hill….. he started grilling Taylor, and when Taylor pushed back, Smith backtracked claiming he cannot debate because he doesn't have enough time, what a cop out.

  2. These young players are doing this in spite of Berhalter not because of him. Just think what they could do with a good, capable, open minded truth telling manager/coach!

  3. “Americans cannot comprehend the concept of a draw”

Facts and I’m American and it’s quite sad lol. Americans hate them. Basically bullied college football and the nhl to change the rules on ties. I actually wish the nhl never changed it tbh.

  4. This is, by far, the youngest team at the World Cup and they made it to the round of 16. There is a chance they make it further. The USMNT is setting the foundation to blossom into a true threat on the world stage.

  5. A fluke. Nothing of substance in the team. They are better at playing baseball still. As usual Americans need a world-class hero like a Muhammad Ali, a Tiger, a Jordan on the soccer field to galvanise the right football culture. Keep trying but…Not in this lifetime.

  6. The 5th day of a test match where you have the last batsmen in who are actually bowlers by trade and they survive to get a draw…that is amazing drama.

  7. National football teams go through cycles like most other sports. Take Italy for instance, they have won WC’s and Euro 2020, but didn’t qualify for Qatar. Player fitness and form play a huge part. Who’s to say if Pulisic will continue to play at a high level or any other of the current squad. It’s impossible to say if this is some kind of turning point.

  8. Dudes laughing about a man from America not knowing enough about soccer meanwhile that same country the guy is from draws against a team that’s supposed powerhouse ? Whats more of a joke😂😂😂😂

  9. To be fair, I think the USA did well to come out of the group, especially after missing the 2018 World Cup, but beating Netherlands will be a tall order.

I could see it going to penalties, and the Dutch have a shaky history when it comes to shootouts. I still see USA being knocked out, by by a narrow margin.

    Greetings from England.

  10. People keep mentioning Stephen A doesnt know soccer. I will contend he doesnt know ANY SPORT. He think he knows basketball more than Ex NBA players, football more ex NFL players..etc.
ALL those pundits who never played pro or even D1…(Skip Bayless etc) know as much as any decent fan. They just loudtalk & troll with deliberate "takes" to stir contraversy.

  11. You media pundits need to stop exaggerating the expectations of USMNT in this tournament because it's not good for the casual fan. Yes, they did okay in the tournament, but y'all need to stop making the team look like they have to win the world cup or its a failure. They ain't winning the world cup, they are getting better, but not at the level of any powerhouse. They rely on athleticism and have started to export a few players to Europe, but it's not enough yet. Once they have more players in the biggers teams in Europe then they will have a solid team worthy to win the world cup and have high expectations. We are looking to that in 10 years.

  12. The goal all along was to get to the round of 16, given that the core of the team is so young. Which they accomplished. I think the expectations will be much higher next World Cup though.

  13. The problem is, the USMNT apologists pull out EVERY crumb of success and inflate it. Sure, let's not be "gloom and doom" by a long shot. But honestly, Twellman has been one of the MORE rational pundits I've heard this WC! I mean, EVERYBODY on FOX is falling over themselves about how this team's "arrived"? Where, exactly?

Let's briefly recap: They drew with a Wales team that has shown the world, in no uncertain terms, that they aren't very good. Drew England…which I thought they played pretty well, but English folks think they were trash…and beat a "meh" Iran team imo. By a hair. Look, I hope the guys win the stinking WC. And if Berhalter does it with Reyna on the bench, more power to him. But personally, I think it's equally likely that a motivated Dutch team will blow their doors off this weekend. And IF that happened, I'd prefer if we don't accept the inevitable whitewashing that'll no doubt ensue afterwards…

  14. Lol the US couldn’t beat a terrible Wales team, tied England who got demolished by Hungary not long ago, and barely beat a poor Iran team. This group was the weakest in the tourney and barely got 5 points. Calm down.😂

  15. It's true that Americans don't understand ties. Every time there is a tie in the NFL (it's happened 28 times in the past 48 years), people everywhere, including many of the players, are confused to find out that a tie can actually happen. I have no idea why they don't get it or can't accept it, but it's true.

  16. I’m sorry but there always needs to be a winner.. I think it’s funny they think the game would go on forever if there were no ties in that is completely BS. They are wrong there should never be a tie. Stupid European mindset. They laugh at us and we laugh at them. There should never be ties ever.
