Years ago, they would get routed with ease… The Irish men's team in recent years seems to defeat the USA men's team. I do think there are reasons for optimism for us…….. but I'm a glass 1/2 full kind of person!!

The tactics almost sunk the US in the first half. They should have been down by 1 or 2 at half to be completely honest. They tried to sit back in a deep block and draw Ireland out of their deep block so they could counter, but when you are going against talent like O'Sullivan and McCabe that's a risky tactic to play. But what a goal by Fox just going for it. And when Ertz came into the game, this team started to have so much fun and way more dominance on the field. It just shows Ertz's worth to this team and what she brings, and she will be a huge missing piece if she is not at the World Cup.
Scary injury to Mal Pugh and she'll probably be out for some time because she tore a tendon in her knee. It's sad when you have a player that's been as good as she has and is a heartbeat to this front line's success and she goes down badly injured. Prayers for a speedy recovery and that she can make the World Cup.
