  1. Those American journalists do not realize that soccer is the most competitive sport in the world, it is played all over our planet, it is very difficult to stand out and reach the round of 16, this is not American football or baseball that is played by a few countries, the usa soccer team has done a great job

  2. I literally followed the USMNT on Instagram for them making through to the R16, and also Mexico not making out the group as well. People don’t get how young this US team was this World Cup, there was no Dempsey, Bradley, Howard, Altidore, Jones. All they had were young players like Mckennie, Pulisic, Weah, Reyna, Robinson, Musah. The US did a great job with little experience of a team like this, and it’s gonna hopefully be a great time in 2026 with these players.

  3. I assure you that if in soccer(football) they wrote the scoreboard like in american football, Stephen A would watch football. He needs to understand that the packers are not winning 21 to 14, they are winning 3 to 2 lmao

  4. 2 goals in three games… not unreasonable for football. Also 'its the united states of america'… yeah and you guys suck at mens football, getting out of your groups is a great achievement for you don't be overconfident. Just take small steps lmao.

  5. These guys want NFL scores 😂 you could argue that it could have been more of a dominant and imposing showing offensively, but some game are grind out games
Holding england to 0 and a draw is pretty impressive

  6. Next big World Cup is the Rugby one next year in France and the USA did not make it to the finals – needed to beat Portugal ( a tiny Rugby nation ) and they could only tie

Rugby you would think would be much closer to the USA sports given the athletes in the NFL and College and how they could translate

Oh well the US will also be the host of that World Cup in 2031 so they will be playing in that one their record in the rugby World Cup is 3-22 đŸ€”

  7. They are basketball and to a degree American football commentators at best.

And us ate not a footballing nations but to get to the knockout stage and lose to a good team in Holland is a good step forward.

And what stephen a doesn't realise because in the nba where its essentially 30 teams in a league and they have a "post season" just because they felt lile it lol and make up as they go along

Where as in the world cup every game every draw every extra goal counts so it isn't boring there is more at stake.

Unlike the nba where a team can finish low as 10th and still qualify for the "post season" so not every game is serious or every minute is precious

  8. The real reason why soccer will probably never be a top sport in the US is because spectators here in America love seeing score boards lit up. Take any NFL game that ends in a 10 to 6 score and the average fan will say “What a boring game?”, instead of recognizing the great defense displayed in the game.

  9. Why have Smith on this segment if he can't speak soccer? If Smith is there for shock value, sarcasm or making mountains out of mole hill then that's another story.

  10. yes dominate every sport that’s highly focused in the usa and not much anywhere else, who plays football, baseball in the world or have professional leagues, sports that are more widely available they do not

  11. Back to normal I guess
was this better than 2018? Obviously!
But the players brought because of whatever our coaches name or our federation wasn’t that great tbh

We could’ve been better than this and chose the overhype

  12. It looks like North Americans are so used to watching basketball players scoring two digits. Remember that IT'S FOOTBALL or you call it as soccer. It's not easy to score. Even a 1 goal is a huge thing. USA as underdogs making it to knockout stage is a great achievement in FOOTBALL. In football game if you win against countries like Argentina, Brazil , Germany , England , Spain, France, Belgium then it's a great achievement. These countries got lot of good players but they're also the one who get lot of troll and attacked from fans when they'r kick out from group stage like Belgium, Germany and Uruguay they didn't make it to knockout stage.
Inorder to love football you need to first stop giving judgement as per basketball views.

  13. How many sports do the US dominate? (In comparison to the number of sports that are played globally). It's Basketball & Athletics. That's it. Relax!!

  14. The level of ignorance exhibited by the 2 smug pundits is mind boggling. The fact that they put a higher value on goals scored than qualification for the round of 16 shows how skewed their thinking is by stats driven American Sports. Football is a completely different ball game (pun intended)

  15. The US are good a American football, baseball and basketball but the endurance of soccer is vastly different it’s hard to control the ball and have great defense and score without years of playing and fans cheering you on none of which the US has compared to other countries

  16. In soccer i think teams that have younger players play the best because they aren't afraid of risks and they want to win and will try everything to win.
