5. Nervous about this one. Nice young squad however not enough to be England. I don’t think we will three peat.

6. Concerned about lack of big tourney experience overall and about lack of depth at defender specifically center backs. Not sure why Vladko didn't rethink adding Davidson.

7. Becky Sauerbrunn has been a ROCK on the backline. True, even if 100% healthy her age would have limited her minutes, but we will miss her steady leadership. Big hole to fill. That said, I agree Julie Ertz is the likely heir-apparent to being that rock on defense.

9. I like the US. I have not followed Sam Mewis lately. If she is healthy, it is a mistake not to have her. Sam is a big game player. She is strong and fearless. She is a difference in tough battles. Catarina Macario was out of luck because she is hurt. Her skills and ball control would have helped.
   I however, hope because of Ertz, Horan, Lavelle (Great Midfield) and Alex Morgan and Rapinoe. Go USA, but watch for Australia and England.

16. Bummer so many key world class players injured, plus some puzzling roster choices (Rapinoe? Too slow).. I’m not sure the USWNT gets past the quarterfinals, and reaching the semifinals would likely be an overachievement.

21. I see problems in the middle Horan and Ertz are the only strong ones when we dont have the ball (and Ertz is not even close to being in word cup level)
    And I would have taken Hatch instead of Thompson

Alana Cook and Naomi Girma played together in college… not worried about their chemistry/partnership. i’m worried about Cook. she continues to make horrific errors that cause her teams goals. that’s not something you can consistent do at the international level. France, England, Sweden, Spain, so many more will take advantage of that. Also, Sonnet played center back in college- her preferred position until Jill Ellis/Vlatko showed her the only way she would make a roster is if she converted to outside back. You don’t forget those skills- the chemistry is the question there.
