  1. Wind was a major factor in tale of two halves. US training from U-10 on up fails to produce players who understand small group tactics and possession play. This is European style that is superior to relying on super players to do it all by themselves. baked in the cake. why Netherlands was dominate with the wind in first half.

  2. If the USWNT wins this WC it will be in spite of Vlatko instead of because of his abysmal coaching decisions. God, he’s horrible!!

  3. They are losers and deserve to lose. Who are they playing for? Old players have corrupted the young. You cannot hate the beautiful country you represent and be successful it is hypocritical. Sharon

  4. Bench Alex Morgan !!! Yesterday, she was doing absolutely nothing …….Sofia Smith is very selfish player. Yes, yes, she is good, runs very fast but she just wants to score all by herself; doesn't work that way……..And finally, the coach Vlatko Androski should be fired. He is NO good.

  5. Bad coach! Why him? I’ve never seen USWNT play at high school level like this. Alex Morgan focused on her makeup more than her game. Rapinoe was a joke. These two shouldn’t be on the team. The keeper is the big failure (we lost the best keeper to the Philippines), it made me think she’s years under coach’s favored. Dunn played weak. Fox? How did she get on the team? The whole team get chaos most of the time. It’s not the world catching up, the US team lose faith of team play. It’s not fair to ask for equal pay and play like high school kids.

  6. Happy to see that the captain, and an individual who sang the anthem with hand over heart, SAVED the team from a loss. Any player who doesn't want to respect their country's anthem or flag should not be in a competition where they represent a country, and not just a professional team.

  7. EUFA has started investing in the women's game, and it's slowly started delivering results. I believe that in 2 to 4 years 4+ European teams will be on par with US women's football.

  8. Bummer when it's not down to bullying a group of 4 foot nothing undernourished amateurs as in previous World Cups….
    Ah well,
At least there's the REAL CUP, the She Believes variety
where you can drag the likes of Uzbekistan and Vietnam across the length and breadth of the States of the Union and beat them like an ol' Navaho drum.

  9. As with all things football there are Cycles of dominance. Teams will be successful and then other teams adjust, invest and get better. The dominate team fails to adapt, over uses older players and fails to get the correct replacement coach for the successful one. In Europe we knew that things were changing in the last world cup. USA won, but it was obvious that others were catching up. That day has now arrived. There has been a power shift and what we saw today was Netherlands who are not at the level they were up to when they won the Euros and in the last world cup still knew how to play against and frustrate the US.
The US reacted by getting frustrated and angry. That is not how champions act. If it was not for the weakness of the referee a certain US player would have been in trouble and how VAR did not correct it is odd looking from the outside.

You keep talking about the coach….you need another English women to lead you. You know who I am talking about, but you chose the man you have now …as I said history is littered with these power shifts because of mistakes like that!

The US fans will have to get used to this shift. It will be hard for them as they have been used to success, but if they know anything about Football history they will understand these cycles happen. There are now international Women's teams not only in Europe that will cause USA big problems.
Look at how Germany performed. Do you honestly think the US can compete against them when Oberdorf returns? "Times they are a changing"!!

  10. USWNT had a big advantage for many years – as they had only full time professional women's league in world in the USA . USA team won several world cups playing against half professional teams , housfiwes , part time athletes etc . And they shamelessly celebrated their victories like it was a big deal lol. Few years ago european nations started to invest more in women's game , womens champions league is now more proffesional etc , several european national teams are full time professionals. Its the first time in their history that USWNT will face more or less professional and competitive teams … and USA are already stragling ! Spain and Germany will totally destroy USA , Japan will have a good chance too . The days of USWNT dominance are ended – you were good against amateurs but times are changinng . European teams will put USA in their place .
