I do not understand the hatred of some Americans towards the USA team – the most skilled in the world, ranked #1 in the world, most world cups etc…. (I suspect some trumpist right wing politics fuels this hatred, which is a pity …)

Who did not predict this to happen? Their attitudes about their country attracted a negativity that their stunning athletic prowesses just could not surmount. I just hope this is a clear lesson for future American athletes that attitude, perspective, and spirit, across the board — are the leading causes to winning.
