Dana White's argument may be flawed but I don't he is completely wrong. Soccer is largely athleticism and strategy more than talent. You may want to ask wtf is the difference. It's subtle. Think of it like a pianist. Someone who has memorized how to play a single complicated song and can't play anything else vs someone who can almost pick up any song in a matter of minutes or hours almost out of instinct. It's something like that. What he is saying is that soccer unlike some other sports doesn't have that quality to it. I think Soccer does but maybe not to the same degree as some others. What I don't like about soccer is how it's normal to baby every single incident like a massive injury or foul has occurred.
Ive said this to many people over the years, pretty much every sport in the world is based of hand eye coordination and that comes naturally to humans. However FOOTBALL is hand foot coordination which is unnatural to most human beings. Throw a ball to most peole and the can catch it, but throw a ball to most peoples feet and they dont know what to do. Football is by far the highest skilled sport and the top level

when people talking about talent, what they actually mean? Nobody have a special talent kicking, throwing or hitting balls, or whatever. its just how good u train your eye – hand – feet coordination, and how young u start. Basis for almost every sport. Good training is everything….

my personal suggestion to those that criticize football (soccer) is try it once & tell us how easy it really is. my very humble opinion on the subject is that at the highest level soccer ought to be the single most difficult sport there is.
